Herbal Allies for Energy

Herbal Allies for Energy

Posted by Goddess Provisions on

Plants and herbs have traditionally been used to support well-being for centuries. We will take a closer look at a few of the herbal allies found in Apothékary’s Blue Me Away and how you can incorporate this June box product into your daily routine.

Blue Matcha

This beautiful, pigmented blue powder actually isn’t matcha, despite what its popular name might suggest. Blue Matcha is actually a powdered version of Butterfly Pea Flower, a flower that can be found growing in Southeast Asia. Known for its pigment and color-changing properties, this magical powder is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants work within the body to help aid the cells in protecting them from free radicals. Free radicals are generated by exposing the body to things such as X-rays, UV rays from the sun, and pollutants found in the air. Blue Matcha can also be used as a cognitive supporter, helping to boost memory and focus.

Chlorella

Another plant rich in antioxidants, Chlorella is a unicellular alga that is processed into a bright green powder. Incorporating Chlorella into your routine, especially if you have a plant-based diet, can be very beneficial as this alga contains macro and micronutrients that you may not find available in a lot of plant-based products. Similar to Blue Matcha, Chlorella is also rich in antioxidants and can help detoxify the body.

Siberian Ginseng

Siberian Ginseng, also known as Eleuthero Root, is an adaptogenic herb that has been used for thousands of years, especially in Traditional Chinese Medicine. An adaptogen is an herb that helps to create balance within the body by helping it adapt to stressors. This root has traditionally been used to help increase energy and focus while reducing stress within the body.

Pea Protein

When following a plant-based diet, it can be hard to find sources of protein that work for you. Pea protein is a great alternative for those who follow plant-based diets and is easily digestible within the body. Pea protein can help build strength within the body and contains several micronutrients. Because pea protein is easier for the body to break down when comparing it to gluten or lactose, especially if you have an intolerance to either, it can also support digestive well-being.

How to Use These Herbal Allies

All of these herbal allies can be found in Apothékary’s Blue Me Away, one of the featured items in our latest box, our June Solar Energy Box. The blend of these ingredients can help provide a natural boost of energy without the caffeine to help increase your focus and reduce stress within the body. You can pair this blend with your favorite non-dairy milk as your go-to morning beverage or include it in a fruit and vegetable smoothie. Here is a recipe that you can use to inspire your kitchen creativity:

Blue Skies & Clear Minds Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2-3 dates (based on your sweetness preference)
  • ½ cup spinach
  • 1 packet of Blue Me Away
  • ¾ cup non-dairy milk
  • Optional nut butter if desired

Combine all of the ingredients into your blender, blend, and enjoy!
